Personal Energy Savings

Scheduling

Sensi smart thermostats help save customers about 23% of HVAC energy consumption by using their ability to schedule different temperatures remotely.* The ability to schedule your Sensi smart thermostat for different temperatures throughout the day (i.e., cold mornings and warm afternoons) ensures there is no energy waste. Turning your smart thermostat off while you are away from home means you are not wasting any unnecessary energy. Using energy to heat and cool your home only as needed reduces your carbon footprint as well as your energy bill.

Geofencing

You also have the option to set your Sensi smart thermostat on geofencing mode. Geofencing is a way to automatically control your Sensi thermostat based on your location. When you travel 3 miles away from your home the Sensi app will signal your thermostat to change set points and save energy. Your thermostat will lower the temperature 3 degrees when you are in heat mode or raise 3 degrees in cool mode. When you travel back to within 3 miles from your home, your thermostat will be set back to the temperature you had selected before you left.

If you are a busy person with no set schedule, the geofencing feature allows you to be more efficient with your heating and cooling energy usage without needing to remember to adjust your thermostat.

If you tend to have a predictable schedule from day-to-day or week-to-week, the scheduling feature may fit your lifestyle better.

Usage Report

Usage Report

As part of our ENERGY STAR certification, Sensi now provides usage reports for your thermostat. There is an option to get an emailed monthly usage report, and you can also see daily and monthly usage data in the Sensi app as well.

Utility Partnerships

Sensi partners with over 75 utility organizations across the country that work together to offer customers both energy efficiency and demand response programs focused on energy reduction at scale.

Demand Response Programs

Using innovative technology, demand response programs learn how your home uses energy to optimize your usage and help you save money. When demand for energy is highest (typically during extremely sweltering summer days), demand response programs will schedule Active Savings Events that precool your home before the peak hours of the day, when energy use is highest and most expensive. This allows for the impact on the power grid to be reduced. If an event occurs on a day or time that is inconvenient for you, you have an option to opt out of participation.

Rebates

You can also take advantage of rebates from your local utility to help reduce the initial cost of your thermostat. Check here for availability and to see if you qualify.

Commitment to ENERGY STAR ®

The Sensi brand of smart thermostats is one of the first to be ENERGY STAR certified, an official endorsement of Sensi’s energy-saving features and the cost-efficient benefits for consumers. ENERGY STAR is a program run by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) that promotes energy efficiency. Sensi was also the first smart thermostat to be named ENERGY STAR Partner of the Year, an award that honors businesses and organizations that lead their industries in the production, sale, and adoption of energy-efficient products, services, and strategies.

Sensi Brings Home Comfort to Life

Sensi has made the ENERGY STAR Pledge to continue to make long-term commitments to helping save HVAC energy costs for millions of Americans.

* Energy savings calculated by comparing operation time for a nationwide sample of Sensi users with temperature adjustments averaging 4 degrees vs. users with no adjustments. Savings vary based on equipment type/condition, insulation, climate and temperature adjustment size/frequency.
