The Sensi app requires users to allow certain permissions to have full functionality. The app permissions are common. Please see below for a list of each permission, and what the app uses it for:
Android
- Camera- Allows Sensi to access the camera to take and store photos on your phone.
- Location- Location is used in registration of your thermostat. Users can click the "Locate Me" button to fill in their location information. This enables the precise location for Geofencing.
- Nearby Devices- Allows Sensi to access nearby devices such as your Wi-Fi router.
- Phone- This allows a user to link their Sensi to a local, registered Sensi contractor, and to click the contractor's phone number directly from the app. If clicked, it leaves the app and dials the number of your contractor on your phone.
- Files/Media- This allows the app to access the media storage.
Other Permissions
- Change Wi-Fi connectivity- This is used during the setup process for connecting Sensi to Wi-Fi.
- Change Bluetooth connectivity- Exclusively used in connecting Sensi Touch 2 and Lite to Wi-Fi.

iOS
The two phone types have similar permissions which do the same things but are named differently. Make sure to toggle each setting to the “On” green position.
- Location- Location is used in registration where a user can click the "Locate Me" button to fill in their location information. This also enables the precise location for Geofencing. Choose "While using app."
- Bluetooth - Exclusively used in connecting Sensi Touch 2 and Lite to Wi-Fi.
- Local Network - This is used during the setup process of connecting Sensi to Wi-Fi or Homekit.
- Camera & Photos- This allows the Sensi app to access the camera to take and store photos on your phone.
- Home Data - This is required when pairing Sensi with Homekit.
Optional permissions
- Siri & Search- Recommend enabling this for users with visual acuity issues.
- Notifications - When enabled, you have the option to customize it just like any other app on the device. Which includes banners, banner style, notifications on lock screen, notification center, and with sounds or not.
- Cellular Data - Enabling this will allow the Sensi app to use the cellular data connection when Wi-Fi is not in use or not providing internet access.
