Why does the Sensi app ask for access to my home data?

When downloading the latest Sensi mobile app for Apple (iOS), you will be asked to allow Sensi access to your home data. This request allows HomeKit compatible Sensi thermostats to be controlled via Apple’s Home app and Siri.

 

If your thermostat is not Apple HomeKit compatible you can choose to deny access.

 

Not all Sensi thermostats are Apple HomeKit compatible. To be certified for Apple HomeKit compatibility, we were required to use specific hardware that supports Apple’s HomeKit platform. Previous versions of Sensi thermostats cannot be upgraded through software or firmware. Find out if your Sensi thermostat is Apple HomeKit compatible.

 

No matter what Sensi thermostat you have, you can be assured updates to our mobile app and use of other third-party smart home platforms such as Amazon Alexa will be supported equally.
